Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
Global warming, especially due to an increase in the levels of greenhouse gases
in the atmosphere is a major cause of climate change. The GEF Small Grants Programme
supports projects that address climate change mitigation, which is reducing
or avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases; and climate change adaptation,
which is assisting communities, especially in developing countries to become
better able to cope with the negative impacts of climate change.
